Pregnancy yoga

Conscious breathing, relaxing and moving. Looking ahead to the birth with confidence!

From 2027 you can join midwife Loes for inspiring group classes in pregnancy yoga. Pregnancy yoga is so much more than movement alone: it is a moment of pure connection with your changing body, a conscious preparation for birth and a lovely way to find deep rest.

Being pregnant is a special time in which your body changes constantly. Your belly grows, your posture changes and your body sometimes asks for more rest and attention. Pregnancy yoga offers a moment to consciously slow down, move and reconnect with your body and your baby.

In the classes we combine gentle yoga postures with breathing, relaxation and body awareness. You learn to listen to your body, create space where there is tension and build trust in yourself and in the process.

A moment for yourself, in which you step out of the rush and consciously pause at the special journey to motherhood.

What is pregnancy yoga?

Pregnancy yoga is a gentle form of yoga fully adapted to the pregnant body. The exercises help you keep moving in a safe and pleasant way, while leaving room for relaxation and awareness.

We pay attention to postures that can help release tension in, among other places, your back, shoulders, hips and pelvis. Breathing and relaxation also get an important place. We hand you practical tools that can help you cope with the challenges of your pregnancy and gain more trust in your body.

You don’t need yoga experience. Every class offers room to feel what you and your body need at that moment.

Why pregnancy yoga?

Becoming aware and trusting your body

Your body changes constantly during pregnancy. Pregnancy yoga invites you to consciously pause at those changes and to feel again what is happening in your body. By moving, breathing and feeling consciously, you get to know your body better and discover all it can do.

You don’t have to control or know everything. By pausing at what you feel and experience, trust grows in your own body, in yourself and in the process that unfolds step by step.

Room for relaxation

Gentle movements, breathing and awareness help you release tension and truly relax. You create space, literally and figuratively, to slow down, get out of your head and reconnect with your body.

Connection with your pelvis and pelvic floor

Your pelvis plays an important role during pregnancy and birth. In the classes we bring awareness to this area and practise not only tensing, but above all relaxing and letting go. That way you discover what space and relaxation can mean in preparing for the birth.

Your breath as an anchor

Your breath is always with you and can be a powerful tool when things get tense, intense or challenging. By breathing consciously, you learn to recognise and release tension. You experience how your breath can help you stay present and connected with your body.

Preparing for your birth process

Pregnancy yoga is not about preparing perfectly for “the” birth. Every birth and every woman is different. You do receive tools to approach your own process with more awareness and confidence.

You get to know different postures, breathing techniques and ways of relaxing that can support you during labour and birth. That way you discover what suits you and what helps you keep your confidence, even when it gets tense or intense.

Connection with yourself, your baby and others

Between all the appointments, preparations and changes, there is room to slow down and simply be. To pause at yourself, your body and your baby. To consciously connect with the life growing inside you.

At the same time you are on the road together with other pregnant women. There is room to share experiences, find recognition and meet each other. Pausing together at the special and sometimes challenging road to motherhood can mean so much. You don’t have to do it alone.

Who is it for?

Pregnancy yoga is suitable for pregnant women who want to keep moving in a gentle and conscious way during their pregnancy.

You don’t need yoga experience and you don’t need to be flexible or sporty. The exercises are adapted to your pregnant body and your own abilities. Listening to your body is always central.

So even if you have never done yoga before, you are very welcome.

Do you have specific complaints, medical points of attention or are you unsure whether pregnancy yoga is suitable for you? Discuss this beforehand with your midwife or gynaecologist.

What can you expect?

Every class offers a combination of movement, breathing and relaxation:

The goal is not to achieve the perfect posture. It is about learning to feel, trust and relax.

A moment for yourself and your baby

Pregnancy can sometimes feel as if everything revolves around what comes next. An appointment with the midwife, a scan, the nursery, the baby list…

Pregnancy yoga invites you to not have to do anything for a moment.

To breathe.
To feel.
To move at your own pace.
And to consciously connect with the little miracle growing inside you.
